Real Talk Tuesdays

Today... was one of the most interesting days I've had so far on my trip. And its only my 4th day. I'm very grateful for my cousin and our friend to bring me to the places/things I've seen today.
As usual by all means. I'm not a professional photographer. Still trying to learn how to use my camera. so my settings are all over the place. Also after this day I'll prob put the camera down just so I can have a down to earth day and chill with my cousin.

headed out around 10am to an undisclosed location. But from where we were (Happy Valley, Causeway Bay) It's about a 45 minute drive NO traffic, obviously impossible in HK. The drive includes. Under water tunnel, then two bridges that cross bodies of water, and another tunnel that goes through a mountain.

underwater tunnel
one of the two bridges
kind of made a pit stop, just so I can see that it really exists haha. but this is all I really got to see, and really wanted to see anyways. We have one in Cali and if I went to this particular one..... I'm almost 100% I would be disappointed.

Made it to J's apt. to meet up
His form of transportation. He lives in the outer region of HK. place where more people own their own cars because there is less public transportation that is easily accessible.

So the general plan of the day was for them to show me the garage in which my cousin, and J work on their cars at.
They consider themselves very grateful already since the garage space is owned my a friend which is a running shop. So they get to wrench on their cars there. However for my cousin thats a 45 minute drive one way haha. not to mention bridge and tunnel tolls as well!

about a ten minute drive we got to the location. There was my cousin's old Aristo. in which a few weeks earlier was T-boned by a Hiace going pretty damn fast... My cousin made it out fine, however still recovering from bumps and bruises

I however was really quite sad I never got to ride in this. I wanted to feel that luxurious 2jz turbo powers

Lets take a look at the garage....

If you've watched wangan midnight. This is as about as close as it gets to it. Living situation wise haha.
Garage/workspace down below
Living quarters up top.
After greeting the shop owner, and bullshitting a little, and a very small walk around/tour of it. I find it to be a very humbling shop. (especially space wise). To be honest I really didn't know what kinda vehicles he maintains/modifies or what have you......... Until we walked over to the warehouse perpendicular to it. He unlocked it and he slid a giant garage door open. And this is what I saw.

I pretty much had one of those Gone In 60 Seconds.... they bust in to that warehouse and Angelina Jolie says "Hello Ladies...." moment.

I'll let the pictures explain themselves...

 random parts.

 oops... *shrug*

theres one more in the back left corner of this picture.
It was pretty damn intense. So apparently he is a mechanic for a few different race series that takes place in China. but yea... kinda mind blown. I thought it was pretty neat =P

So afterwards.. it was like 12pm. We decided to get breakfast.
spotted this little gem in the parking lot of the restaurant. Apparently owned by one of the waitresses that work there. It was the first CTR i spotted so I got a bit giddy.

 Sitting on RG2s

What I found funny is the parking situation in this restaurant. So pretty much you just pull up and double/triple park everyone if you find a spot and just go inside to eat. So hopefully you know your plate tags. And if you are blocking them they'll just announce it inside to move your damn car! Its like a mutual/unwritten rule that everybody follows (well if you're local and visit often then you'll know) But I found that really funny. Definitely in the States that wont fly....

haha my camera was kinda zoomed in.. as we were passing by this GC8 on the street.
But thankfully J slowed down so I can turn around to take a snap of it.. Still one of my favorite generation/model of subaru ever.

teehee.

So after lunch we headed over to J's parents place of business. After dealing with the deadly guard dog, I was finally able to get permission to snap some pics.
Pretty much, they do logistics... but the term 'logistics' sounds horridly boring... so I'll just show you the type of products they move..
I was actually there to see them unload one.
And heres the rest of them. Actually yet again I had another Gone In 60 Seconds.... bust in to that warehouse and Angelina Jolie says "Hello Ladies...." moment.
pretty much they get sent to china for big dollars
fiat abarahtahtherethererith.. apparently this particular trim in HK sells for 100,000$ USD. alot of money for not a lot of car

alot of brake for not alot of car either haha
one of these.. all wrapped up.. kinda like "whatevers" hahah
 Saw one of these too...

OK so uh... this next vehicle thing... I'm sure some of you know/seen it online or what have you, or at least know the previous pilot of this vehicle......Why or who or what or when... I'm not sure.

But when my cousin and J were kinda telling me what they were taking me to see all they really said was "time attack Subaru" To be honest....

THEY DIDN'T MENTION IT WAS THIS ONE!!!

apparently getting ready for transport to its new owner.
I kinda got to fiddle around with it. LOL
I seriously.... stepped back on a few different occasions while taking pictures to realize what I was standing in the presence of. Then realizing that I wasn't on a layover in Japan...
 White TE37 SLs
 hi.
 Hello.
 serious.
 Really Serious.
heat shield for the gnarly ass wastegate.
 Cusco DAMPA!
I thought the fake headlight housings were kinda cool haha, just a shell of carbon fiber to fake the lights.
 I love aeroooooooo
 ok just one more pic...
is what I said to myself around 15 shutter clicks ago.
they were saying something about why it was converted to LHD but didn't catch all of it. you can see the original instrument cluster hood on the right side better from the previous interior photo.

 OK last one.. seriously.
The Z parked next to it. Heading to China.

After I was able to tear myself away from the lot i got a mini tour of the junkyards... I think I can spend a whole week visiting each one individually...It's like Alpha st. in Irwindale..but with cool shit haha

cut front clips

First 86 I spotted since I got here. They're REALLY rare here.

I spy long champs, and vienna kreis!

oh hey, no big deal.. yea ok. sure.
 Soarer chilling on the street.
Afterwards got to cruise a local mountain road.. in which the literal translation was. "a lot of fog mountain" haha
 JZX!
Afterwards headed back to the shop and saw the people across move pallets and pallets of coke off a container.
Headed back to J's washed up and headed out to dinner. and........... street sighted this Chaser. Apparently in HK these are what the ricer, azn, bleached hair younger chaps drive.

OK off to bed. gonna try to chill out for the day tomorrow. I'm quite sure I suffocated from the humidity earlier and got a sick head change.
till next time.
