took something called a turbo jet, takes about 1 hour to get to Macau from Hong Kong.
Immigration/visitor form..This is about the 3rd one I've filled lol.
departing from Hong Kong.
So my cousin in law works at TVB, pretty much hong kong's main television channel, but more specifically he works for the news portion of it. So on the walkway to go in we run in to these two cause I saw that they were holding gear with the logo on it. And my he tells me that they're going to Macau to cover some protest. What he was telling me is that for the most part field reporters are a two man team - reporter + camera man (which carries a gnarly backpack that can live stream video back to the station)
kinda just decided to take a picture with her haha.
made it to macau, took a taxi and headed to the older side of town, but you pass the newly built casinos.
As you can see here. Macau many years ago was a colony? i guess... of the Portuguese, can really tell from the architecture.
A old hotel, in which you can still spend the night in for dirt dirt cheap prices. I dont even think theres a/c equipped.
got breakfast. more chinese donuts wrapped in rice paper with hoisin sauce.
and heres the kitchen of the place we were eating at HAHa, seriously just straight up in the alley, and the seating room is like 40 ft down the alley in a shady room. How I have not been emitted in to a hospital yet on this trip is a miracle.
A busier town square area, where they keep the original buildings intact, but on the lower floors are like stores and gift shops. few in particular was a Nike store, and a haagen daz kinda funny.
so this particular church was built in the 1800ish.. sorry it was too hot to walk around and read all the little information stuff posted. I only know that it caught fire and what not. And the interesting part of it is that the only part that exist is the part that you see. the front face of the building, in which is still obviously standing.
when going to the way back. there are ruins of a crypt. along the side (wooden slats, in between are skeleton parts on display behind glass that were found in the destruction)
This was written on the railing.
and of course there was coins and garbage on the crypt... friggen China people...
made a lunch stop, and I sucessfully found Fanta GRAPE in a BOTTLE. It was so deliciously rewarding.
driving back to i dont know.. passing the Wynn hotel. yes. same company as the hotel in vegas.
took a stroll through this. I'll post more information about it later on.
Senna.
Here is the street where all the major hotels are built on..... look familiar???? haha
The amazing part is that this street did not exist a few years earlier, It actually use to be a body of water that ran in between two islands. So they filled the gap, and built hotels/casinos in top of it.
'Galaxy' Hotel
Finally made it. a place well known for their Pork Chop sandwiches
I remember sitting under this tree 8 years ago. however theres no more dining area as they took that out. so you kinda just chill on the pathway to eat your sandwich.
Bread is toasted in a wood burning oven so it has that particular smokey taste to it, and in between is a juicy piece of pork chop with the bone still in it! So as your eating you gotta be careful to not bite in to the bone, and pretty much work around it.
"po-tat" Portuguese egg tarts. these amazing things are like the original but have a sugary crisped burnt layer on top of the center.
Caught a taxi back to the hotel afterwards.
picture from the outside (there is a bus that is free which takes you back to the ferry docks)
oh so i turn my phone back on since it doesnt work in Macau anyways and I get a text and have my cousin read it to me. Pretty much from the service provider to warn friggen chinese mainlanders that spitting is a 600$ hkd fine.
made it back to the flat before heading out to dinner, turned on the tele....
Oh hey, look who it is.
